That number is worth holding onto, because it changes how this oceanfront condo on the Northumberland Strait reads. It is $314 per square foot in Canadian dollars, about $227 in US dollars, which puts it at roughly 9 to 16 percent of Manhattan's per-square-foot cost. It is also not the usual alternative New York buyers weigh against the city. Driving is about 707 miles, roughly 11 and a half hours. The property is about a 30-minute drive from YQM and a short drive from Shediac. One connection puts the property within a single day of travel from New York.
The Northumberland Strait has some of the warmest saltwater in Canada, and the Shediac area is known for its beaches and its lobster. This is a place with a full winter, and plenty of owners here are seasonal — a summer base rather than a year-round address, which is an ordinary way to hold property in this area.
