EnAffaire logo EnAffaire for Retail

Retail POS system for shops that are not restaurants, on the EnAffaire POS core that rings real sales every day.

In-store point of sale: a counter, a scanner, a cash drawer and stock that stays accurate. It is the third vertical on the RKP POS core, alongside EnAffaire for Restaurants and MulliganOS — so the journal, the terminals and the tax engine underneath it are not new code written for a brochure. They are the same ones ringing real sales today.

Varech & Cie is a fictional boutique running on EnAffaire. Shop the website, check out with a test card, and see the till in the shop on the same stock count.

Who this is for

Shops selling goods off a shelf: convenience stores, corner stores, general stores, specialty retailers. Built in Atlantic Canada, supported in English and French.

What it does

A catalogue that knows what a barcode is

Products, variants and the barcodes that find them. Scanners disagree about whether a code is twelve digits or thirteen — the same product, read two ways. The catalogue normalises that, so the item rings either way instead of not being found on the one till that reads it differently.

Zero-rated groceries, one tap per product

Basic groceries are federally zero-rated and most shops sell both kinds of thing. Each product carries its own Taxable / Zero-rated toggle on its row in the product book — ordinary data entry, not a call to support. Milk rings with no tax line at all; the sandwich beside it rings with HST.

Stock counted per place, not in one lump

A stocktake is a reset, not an adjustment — which is why counting the back room must not silently erase the front. Stock positions are kept per location and folded separately, so a count where you are standing only ever resets what is there.

A cash drawer that opens on cash

The drawer kicks when a sale is tendered in cash, and there is a test-fire button in the manager screen so you can prove the wiring before opening day rather than during it.

The till comes up without the network

Local state is brought up first and touches nothing remote; the network may update the till, but it is never what starts it. A shop with a dead uplink still opens, and — this is the part that matters — still rings at the right tax rate instead of falling back to a guess while requests time out.

Our offline guarantee: if a sale rung on the till while your internet was down is ever lost, that month is free. We measure it ourselves, from our own logs, every month. How we measure it.

Vendors, purchase orders and cost

Receiving against a purchase order, supplier records and moving-average cost are included, not held back as a premium tier. In retail those are the floor, not the upgrade — a shop that cannot tell you its margin is not being served by its till.

One catalogue and one stock count with your online store

Pair the till with EnAffaire for Online Store and they share a single catalogue and a single stock ledger. A sale at the counter comes off the website’s count, and a unit already promised to a web order is not sold again at the till — which is how one shirt ends up sold twice.

Online orders picked up at the counter

Orders placed for pickup appear in a Pickups list on the till, with each line and the customer’s note. Mark one Ready for pickup and the customer is told, in their language; mark it Handed over and the order is closed online too.

Your regulars, found at the counter

Look a customer up by name, phone or email, or add a new one in a few seconds, and put them on the sale. Their card shows what they have bought and what they have spent, with refunds taken off — and the till warns you before it saves the same person twice.

Gift cards sold at the counter

Sell a gift card like any other line — with no tax on it, because a gift card is not a taxable sale — and it is issued when the sale closes.

Returns, even without the receipt

A return with no receipt needs a manager’s PIN, pays out as store credit or cash, and is capped, so the counter cannot become a cash machine.

Discounts a manager signs off on

A discount at the counter asks for a manager’s PIN before it applies.

Stock moved between your locations

A transfer takes units out of one location and puts them into another in one step, so the count is never briefly in both places or in neither. Each location shows its own on-hand.

Scan with the tablet’s camera

No scanner yet? The till reads barcodes with its own camera. A dedicated scanner is an option you can add later, not a purchase you need before opening day.

Shelf and barcode labels

Print shelf labels and barcode labels straight from the product book, thirty to a sheet, on the printer you already have.

Local Atlantic support

Written here, supported here, in your time zone. When a till misbehaves on a busy Saturday afternoon, you are talking to the people who built the software — not a ticket queue several time zones away.

Take payments with RKP

Use your own processor, or let RKP set you up, with local Atlantic support. It’s an option, never a requirement.
